https://www.allbreedpedigree.com/spf+zephyr

Breezy is a grey filly bred by Starting Point Farm.  She is by Macha Breeze, an Irish Draught stallion we used to own and compete.  Her dam is Heavenly Breeze, an Irish Sport Horse by Brandenburg's Windstar and out of a Welton Crackerjack mare. On both sides of her pedigree, Breezy is bred to event.  She is a lovely mover and a quick learner.  We will bring her along slowly and aim her toward a career in Eventing.

Pedigree information for Breezy

Macha Breeze is the sire of Breezy.

Macha Breeze’s bloodlines are well known in Ireland for being consistent producers of performance horses.  His relatives have earned over 1700 show jumping, 300 eventing, and 80 dressage points in open irish competition.

Macha Breeze was imported to the US after wining the Irish Draught Yearling Colt class and the Munster Joinery Championship at the National Irish Draught Show in Ireland in 1999.  He dabbled in carriage driving and dressage as a young horse.

"Mac" was owned by KSH from 2005-2009, when Megan competed Beginner Novice level eventing with him.  We had him competing at the Novice level with Mike Winter. When he wasn't competing, he was Megan's main riding horse and beloved family pet.  Below is Mac getting some love from our daughter in 2006.

The following photos are of Macha Breeze and Megan, competing at Poplar Place Farm in 2007.

Mac produced over 20 foals, many who went on to eventing and dressage careers with their amateur owners and riders.  Below is the Mac son we bred, Kegan MacCruise, competing at the USEA Area 3 Championships in 2022 at Training Level.

Heavenly Breeze is the dam of SPF Zephyr (Breezy).

Heavenly Breeze was trained for eventing, but was never shown. She has produced a few foals who are being pointed towards eventing careers.

Heavenly Breeze is by Brandenburg's Windstar, an Irish Draugh Sport Horse stallion who competed in Novice Eventing and produced multiple CCI3* and CCI4* horses, most notabily, the CCI5* Eventer Arthur, ridden by Alison Springer.

Welton Nirvana (Bliss) is the dam of Heavenly Breeze, and Grand-dam to Breezy.

Bliss was bred by Sam Barr and born in the UK.  Bliss is by Welton Crackerjack and out of the French Anglo-Arabian mare Rita du Chateau Welton Crackerjack evented to the CCI3* level in the UK.

Welton Nirvana (Bliss)

Bliss evented to Preliminary Level with Lucy ChalcraftLucy describes Bliss as "...the most beautiful mover and very scopy jumper."  Bliss has a full sibling who evented to the Intermediate level in the UK.

Welton Nirvana (Bliss)

Bliss produced Heavenly Breeze and 3 other foals for Lucy after retiring from competition.

Welton Crackerjack is the sire of Welton Nirvana, shown above.

Welton Crackerjack is a British Sport Horse stallion who evented at the CCI3* level.  He is by Welton Gameful, sire of 16 CCI3* eventers.

Bred by the legendary Sam Barr, the Welton line of event horses dominated British Evening for many generations.  They were well known for their wonderful athletic ability and trainable temperaments.

Welton Crackerjack produced over 120 offspring who have gone on to eventing careers in recognized competitions up to CCIO5*.

"Sam, in the 1960s, was the first rider to event a stallion [Welton Gameful] in this country, and he admits that it was even more of a phenomenon in the early days. His daughter Linda, then aged 13, took Gameful to Pony Club rallies, prompting a few raised eyebrows. “When we first started taking him out, some of the Pony Club mothers did say that it wasn’t safe for my young daughter to be riding an entire,” recalls Sam. “And the first time I took him hunting, the MFH, Archie Smith-Maxwell, warned me, ‘Young Barr, is that a stallion? One wrong move from you, and you’ll go straight home.’ But at the end of the day he came up to me and said I was welcome to come out any time.” http://www.emcostallionservices.com/images/HorseandHoundArticle.pdf

"This wonderful temperament is something that the inaugural Welton stallion [Welton Gameful] has passed down through four generations, notably to the great sires Welton Crackerjack, Welton Apollo and Welton Louis. The success of this dynasty has inspired more people to try to breed event horses, rather than search for a star in an Irish field or give former racehorses a new vocation. One only has to scan the programme at any event to see how many entries have these Welton bloodlines. " http://www.emcostallionservices.com/images/HorseandHoundArticle.pdf

"Welton Crackerjack — the only horse to have sired the winners of the northern hemisphere’s most famous three-day events (Badminton: Welton Houdini; Burghley: Welton Greylag; Kentucky: Welton Envoy)."
