| Penmerryl's Rose 2001 IDSH mare Happy Ending RID x Aunt Rosa 1st generation of 50% ID 50% TB |
| Rose's sire, Happy Ending RID, was performance tested and approved Grade One Elite. He is a Champion 'A' Circuit Jumper, as well as the IDHS(NA) 1999 Supreme Performance Champion. He is by Snowford Stoker RID, and out of Trinity RID by Merrygold RID. Snowford Stoker is a direct male line descendant to Tara RID, who is seen in the pedigrees of Clover Hill RID and Sea Crest RID. Rose's dam, Aunt Rosa, is a Jockey Club thoroughbred mare by Hurok and out of a Bessomer daughter. She started 22 times between 1983 and 1987, primarily on turf and in point to point races. She produced two outstanding full siblings to Rose, Penmerryl's Rosalea and Penmerryl's Whispering Pines. Rose has been presented for breeding approval to the American Warmblood Society, where she received a blue premium rating, and a score of 78.175%. This score placed her second in the Nation for the AWS's HOY awards in 2004, along with fully approving her for breeding. She has earned the first two stars in the AWS's 5 star achievement program. In 2004 Rose was started under saddle, and has progressed wonderfully. She attended her first show under saddle in October 2004, the Irish Draught Horse Society of North America's National show, and there performed an Intro and Training level dressage test, as well as competing in hand. This was her first time in an indoor arena, and the first time negotiating the chaotic warm up rings. She handled herself with dignity and grace, calmly accepting her surroundings and performing the required movements to the best of her abilities. We could not be more pleased with her scores and accomplishments. In 2005 Rose took time off for motherhood, and has proven to be an excellent broodmare. In April 2005 she presented us with a spectacular Selle Francais/IDSH cross colt, Premier de Kegan. November 2005: Rose has completed her first event! Shown in the Beginner Novice division at the Big Bear Farm schooling show, she placed 3rd out of 12 in the Adult division! She scored 42.5 in Dressage and went double clear stadium and cross country. January 2006-Rose placed 4th out of 10 riders in the Beginner Novice Rider division at the Poplar Place recognized HT. She scored 40 on dressage, and posted two double clear rounds for show jumping and cross country. March 2006- Rose has been sold. Congratulations to the Driscol Family of Mobile, Alabama. Keep a lookout for Casey on Rose in Area III events! |
