Chief's sire, Ilian de Taute is an approved Selle Francais stallion standing at stud in Canada with Armstrong Farm.  Ilian
was approved with Elite status after finishing tied for 18th (out of 616 starting) at the Cycle Classique in Fontainebleau,
France.  Ilain is currently competing in World Cup Grand Prix events with Chris Sorenson.

Ilian comes from proven performance bloodlines.  His sire, Narcos II is regarded as one of the most reliable producers of
jumpers worldwide.  He is the sire of many international and Olympic competitors, most notably his son,Twist du Vallon,
the 1998 US AGA Horse of the Year.  Narcos II was once a member of the French Olympic Show Jumping team.

Ilian's dam, Ondine du Mensil, was a Grand Prix Jumper from two Grand Prix jumper parents.  She has produced 5 Grand
Prix winners.  Her family line is well regarded as one of the most reliable to produce competitors, having produced over 15
listed winners in Dressage, Show Jumping, AND Eventing.

Chief's dam,
Penmerryl's Rose, comes from proven performance bloodlines as well.

Rose's sire, Happy Ending RID, was performance tested and approved Grade One Elite, by the NaSTA. He has earned
BSJA points, is a Champion 'A' Circuit Jumper, and was the IDSH(NA) 1999 Supreme Performance Champion. He is by
Snowford Stoker RID, and out of Trinity RID by Merrygold RID. Snowford Stoker is a direct male line descendant to Tara
RID, who is seen in the pedigrees of Clover Hill RID and Sea Crest RID.

Rose's dam, Aunt Rosa, is a race winning Jockey Club registered thoroughbred mare by Hurok and out of a Bessomer
daughter. She started 22 times between 1983 and 1987, primarily on turf and in point to point races.

Rose herself shows promise to be competitive in the Jumper and Eventing arenas.  As she is just beginning her career
under saddle, we expect her to follow her father's performance "footsteps".  She has placed in her first 2 events, and her
first jumper show, and will continue her career in Eventing with her young owner.

We expect great things from Chief.  He has been sold to Janet Gunn of Nokesville, VA.  Janet plans on raising him for a
career in Eventing.
